Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

May 14th, 2007

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, from repetitive computer activity. It’s painful. And it may not be the only problem brought about by working on a computer all day long. Tendinitis or Tennis elbow is another.

Exercises do help. But I read something I wanted to pass along.

The older one gets, the longer it takes for any problem to heal. Tendinitis is taking forever with me. According to a Stanford University Medical Center study, injecting your own blood platelets into the problem area seem to trick the body into thinking that it has to heal a wound and consequently sped up the healing process. In fact, after 8 weeks, subjects reported a 60% improvement opposed to a 16% improvement for those receiving a numbing shot.

If additional research pans out, perhaps this treatment will be available in a few years. Probably sooner outside the USA; hopefully, before I die… or, after I’ve finally healed!

I have gotten some help from an exercise program I bought. I probably would be better yet if I remembered to do the exercises regularly!

Contact me through my website contact us page, and if you let me add you to my e-zine list I’ll send you the info on the program I use.
