It takes me a bit of time to shop hardware, so I have a tendency to put it off and let the orders accumulate provided there is no rush. This procrastination has the added benefit of saving on shipping charges.
I do most of this buying online, and you can see who from by checking here. Many times I will start at Pricegrabber.com or Nextag or Shopping.com or wherever to try to find the best prices.
But on several different items today, the best price was at one of my favorite online retailers Buy.com. I don’t know why Buy.com doesn’t show up in their listings anymore, but if I had to guess it would be because Buy.com didn’t want to pay them a commission – or at least not as much as they wanted.
Turns out, not only were the prices of several items lower at Buy.com, but they offered free shipping also. And while I really love the service at NewEgg.com, their shipping costs on some of the items I was looking for was kind of high.
So do yourself a favor when saving money by buying online, head to my recommended vendors page of my website and compare prices at several online retailers. The money you save can be significant.
